Beth Stuart is a painter, based in Toronto. She graduated with an MFA from the University of Guelph in 2009. Her work has recently been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at the MacDonald Stewart Arts Centre in Guelph, at Battat Contemporary in Montreal and at Georgia Scherman Projects in Toronto. In the summer of 2009 she attended the residency Why are Conceptual Artists Painting Again? Because They Think it’s a Good Idea at the Banff Centre with Jan Verwoert. She was named a semi-finalist in the 2010 and 2011 RBC Canadian Painting Competitions and is the recipient
of Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council grants. Upcoming projects include a solo exhibition in Toronto at Erin Stump Projects in October 2011, and at La Centrale in Montreal in spring 2012.
