Martin Golland received his MFA from the University of Guelph (2006) and his BFA from Concordia University (1998). Golland was born in Montpellier, France, and lived in Turkey, Puerto Rico and Miami, and Toronto before moving to Ottawa. Golland has exhibited nationally and internationally, including Shapeshift at Birch Libralato in Toronto (2008), DARK TOWN at the Felix Ringel Galerie in Dusseldorf (2007), What is said and what is meant at the MacDonald Stewart Art Center in Guelph (2006) and Haven at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (2004). He has received the Honorable Mention Prize at the 11th Annual RBC Painting Competition which was exhibited in various museums and galleries across Canada, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Power Plant Toronto, the Musee D’art Contemporain in Montreal, and the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver. He is represented by Birch Libralato in Toronto and Felix Ringel Galerie in Dusseldorf. He is Assistant Professor in Painting at the University of Ottawa.
